High lead levels in drinking water found in four more Tacoma schools


A day after telling Tacoma parents of high lead levels found in drinking water at two elementary schools in testing done eleven months ago, Tacoma School District announced that same testing also found lead in four more schools.

Lincoln Clark, Seattle Opera stage director, dies at 90


Stage director and tenor Lincoln Clark, a mainstay of Seattle Opera and who had a hand in the company’s first, famed “Ring” cycle, died on April 22 at his home in Edmonds.

2nd Hanford tank may be leaking, officials say


Air monitors detected radiation, but a video inspection found no evidence of a leak, so the investigation goes on. A known leak of several thousand gallons of radioactive waste from a different tank was revealed earlier this month.

Governor’s order aims to help ex-prisoners get jobs, stay out of trouble
